Since I grew up in West Texas, Midland seemed the obvious choice. I know the people and wanted my kids to grow up in the same community that I did. The people are friendly here and I know them. I never considered working anywhere else. Midland Women’s Clinic had originally been established back in the early 50’s, so I knew the reputation of the clinic and the doctors in my community. I knew that I wanted to be associated with an organization that was well-known and had a great standing amongst my own friends and family. So, when I was approached by the Midland Women’s Clinic, I never considered another option. I wanted to provide the same high-quality healthcare that the people of West Texas were accustomed to. As we stand, we are now Midland Women’s Clinic, PA. We have six full-time Ob/Gyn’s, 2 Gynecologists and two Physician Assistants, a Nurse Midwife, as well as an amazing group of nurses and support staff. Just as I feel fortunate to work here, you will marvel at the expertise and professionalism of our staff.

Usually have a hard time with blood work but my phlebotomist was very friendly and offered me an alcohol wipe and an ice pack and talked through the whole thing. I didn’t even realize it was done when she asked to remove the ice pack!

Hysterectomy

The procedure and recovery went well. I think Dr. Locke is extremely knowledgeable and capable. The only reason it was not 5 stars is because I feel like there was a severe lack of preparation. Yes, I was asked if I had any questions, but I had no idea what to ask. I understand that this is a regular procedure for doctors, but this is a one time thing for the patient. The only reason I truly felt prepared was because I asked other women who have had a hysterectomy what to expect. There should be something given to patients with tips and expectations (i.e. start taking stool softeners a few days before and MiraLax day of, gas will settle in your shoulders and it will be painful, wear a button up shirt for ease getting dressed after surgery, etc). I would also say that during the pre-op appointment, the paperwork was presented in an extremely fast way. Again, I understand that the doctor knows the info line for line, but this is knew information to a patient and there is medical terminology that needs to be understood. It doesn't need to be rushed.
