Christopher John Ortiz

Establishing rapport and trust with my patients is my goal as a physician. My belief is that medical care is best served when it is personalized and tailored to the individual. Therefore, I take an unhurried approach to get to know my patients and learn about their lives and their families and I feel that this puts me in a better position to address their medical needs. I wholeheartedly believe that healthcare is a collaborative effort, and this is the cornerstone in which I engage in all my patient interactions.

I earned my undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. I then pursued my graduate degree in Medical Science from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas. I stayed in Fort Worth to complete my medical education at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine.

After medical school, I moved far west, to El Paso, Texas, to complete my medical residency in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology with Texas Tech Health Science Center El Paso at the University Medical Center. Working in the only county hospital in El Paso provided a wealth of experience in dealing with all manners of health issues, from the routine to the high risk. To this day, University Medical Center is the only facility in El Paso that performs VBACs and this allowed me to become extremely comfortable with the process. The high surgical volume enabled me to become proficient in both vaginal surgery and minimally invasive surgery, with the robotic platform.

Ortiz familyI live in Prosper with my wife, Elena, our son, Britton, and daughter, Peyton. On the weekends, we spend time together as a family exploring and experiencing all that Frisco and the surrounding areas have to offer.
