Jami Barnard MD enjoys working as a San Antonio OBGYN because she can truly make a difference in the life of each patient who steps into her office. She is passionate about helping women live their best and healthiest life at every age and stage. As a Heights Obstetrics and Gynecology provider, Dr. Barnard takes time to listen to her patient’s concerns and develop a treatment plan to help them feel their best.

Jami Barnard MD earned her Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University in College Station. She then earned her medical degree from the Texas Tech University Paul L. Foster School of Medicine in El Paso.

Dr. Barnard is a licensed OBGYN who twice received the “Outstanding Teaching Resident” award and has been a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society since 2012.

An active volunteer in the community, Dr. Barnard’s interests include educating women on preventive healthcare, providing care at various health fairs and clinics and instructing childbirth education classes. She is a junior fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the author of multiple publications on a wide range of women’s health issues.

Dr. Barnard enjoys exploring San Antonio with her husband and daughter. Her hobbies include backpacking, traveling and spending time outdoors.

Menopause Management / Education

I am highly satisfied with my visit with Dr. Barnard because of her style of care. Everything from Dr. Barnard's joyful mood she greets me with, her inquiries about how I am doing personally, the thoroughness of the explanations about procedures, the well-rounded education she provides about the subject at hand (this annual visit included progressing through peri/menopause), and her overall knowledge about her profession. This is aside from the general aspects of the practice like seeing me on time for appointments and great customer service from all support staff from the front desk, to intake, including phlebotomy. It's always a highly satisfying visit with Dr. Barnard.
