Jami Barnard MD enjoys working as a San Antonio OBGYN because she can truly make a difference in the life of each patient who steps into her office. She is passionate about helping women live their best and healthiest life at every age and stage. As a Heights Obstetrics and Gynecology provider, Dr. Barnard takes time to listen to her patient’s concerns and develop a treatment plan to help them feel their best.

Jami Barnard MD earned her Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University in College Station. She then earned her medical degree from the Texas Tech University Paul L. Foster School of Medicine in El Paso.

Dr. Barnard is a licensed OBGYN who twice received the “Outstanding Teaching Resident” award and has been a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society since 2012.

An active volunteer in the community, Dr. Barnard’s interests include educating women on preventive healthcare, providing care at various health fairs and clinics and instructing childbirth education classes. She is a junior fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the author of multiple publications on a wide range of women’s health issues.

Dr. Barnard enjoys exploring San Antonio with her husband and daughter. Her hobbies include backpacking, traveling and spending time outdoors.

Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)

The Nurse did not seem to care about my situation and I was honestly embarrassed for having to make the call to refill for my UTI ..she just simply had no apology to my condition ..it was sad I realized I was not going to get any help and decided to politely say good bye ...I honestly don't want to return ...I think Dr Barnard is very nice doctor, wish I could have talked w her instead of this insensitive nurse...but I now have to look for another OBGYN

Dr Barnard and the phlebotomist, Crystal was her name I believe are amazing. Crystal really made me feel valued when I was going through my miscarriage. Dr Barnard has been fantastic through all the ups and downs of my pregnancy. One of the front desk ladies was very helpful to me but generally they could improve the way they treat patients. Otherwise I enjoy coming into the office.

Did not have to wait very long. Staff was organized and prepared. Dr Barnard is always positive and attentive to my needs. The receptionist was kind and courteous. Had my paperwork prepared. I was called back very close to my appointment time and vitals were taken very quickly. The entire staff understands their role and work together to ensure that I was taken care of.
