Dr. Damla Karsan is an OB/GYN specialist in Houston, TX and has been practicing for 19 years. In 2018, Dr. Karsan established her own practice, Comprehensive Women’s Healthcare to ensure the best personalized care for each of her patients. Her areas of expertise include the care of complicated pregnancies and robotic gynecological surgery. She is dedicated to the holistic care of women including their physical and emotional well-being. She received a B.A. in Biochemistry and B.A. in Managerial Studies, both with high honors Rice University. From there, she earned her medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Karsan is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Karsan is highly regarded both patients and colleagues alike, and is the recipient of honors such as winning the Baylor Voluntary Faculty Teaching award every year she was eligible, The St. Luke’s Family Center Maternity Care Physician of the Year 2009, Texas Monthly Best Physicians 2011-2019 and Houstonia Magazine’s Top Doctor 2015-2018.

Annual Well Woman Exam

Everyone in Dr. Karsan's office is absolutely excellent. Yesterday I dealt with four different people, all of whom were happy to be there, extremely courteous, and very kind. I chatted with the front desk person, and the young lady who took my vitals and did my check in was one of the kindest people I have ever encountered in a Doctor's office. I saw Kathryn Ackerman first who answered some questions for me, and then Dr. Karsan came in and did my exam as well as reassuring me she could help me find a new internal medicine doctor and a gastro for my colonoscopy. Dr Karsan recognized my (newly diagnosed) scoliosis immediately and both recommended a course of action, and said her office could help find someone to see regarding my scoliosis. Dr. Karsan also addressed more general health care with me (it's time to start doing skin cancer checks) etc. I am very appreciative of both the general care level of her office and the specific care taken by the individuals who work there.

Gynecological Exams

Dr. Karsan and Nurse (? I'm forgot her name) were professional and kind. Both spent what I felt was a long time with me discussing every concern I had. They also asked questions to undercover issues I had not even been aware of. I had perimenopause.concerns and ob's sometimes can be dismissive of women who are not there for pregnancy. This is not the case at Dr. Karsan's office at all. I felt very seen and cared for. Office staff is punctual and easily available by phone. I felt I could depend on them.
