She received her Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Texas. She then completed her Master of Science in medical sciences at the University of North Texas Health Science Center.

This San Antonio OBGYN received her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She stayed in the city for her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. During her residency, Ilanna Loeffel MD completed the Felix Rutledge Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology, a one-month rotation at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Dr. Loeffel pursued research experiences during medical school and residency, exploring aspects of everything from laparoscopic surgery to ovarian and cervical cancer. In 2017, this motivated physician received the Ryan Resident Scholarship to pursue additional training in family planning.

Dr. Loeffel has certification in the da Vinci System for robotic gynecologic surgery and certification in Nexplanon insertion and removal.

Even though the appointment was scheduled for 9:40am and I checked in at 9:30, I wasn't seen until closer to 11am. The assistant that look me to get my vitals didn't really talk to me and my prescription was sent to the wrong pharmacy, even though I was asked twice which one I wanted it to go to. Nothing crazy wrong about the visit, I just wish I was seen closer to my appointment time.

30minute initial wait and I feel I should be able to ask questions about things that are happening or on track to happen without being liable for extra charges as long as it pertains to this type of exam but maybe it is just the approach in how the $150 was addressed, although I do appreciate being told upfront. Although the doctor was wonderful, I am re-thinking of returning because there was a lack on security and sanitary preparations on urine collection (no lids/piled in receiving compartment with dried up marker use for patients to write their own names) also waiting for basic vitals took a while and seemed be low standard. They ask me how tall I was instead of actually measuring my height and took my blood pressure while I sat in a chair in a corner after asking me to stand on a white digital weighting scale. When I mentioned about my concerns about my urine collection to the woman who took my vitals she mentioned that they have had an increase on providers with patients. So I took it as maybe I need to find another location more up to date with medical supplies or procedures.

Not satisfied with the Staff was not friendly. I smiled and complemented the receptionist, but I understand at times we can be having a bad day. The wait for my appointment took over an hour. However, I really like my doctor, Dr. Loeffel. For my next appointment, I will take my doctor's advice and schedule my appointment at an earlier time.
