She received her Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Texas. She then completed her Master of Science in medical sciences at the University of North Texas Health Science Center.

This San Antonio OBGYN received her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She stayed in the city for her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. During her residency, Ilanna Loeffel MD completed the Felix Rutledge Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology, a one-month rotation at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Dr. Loeffel pursued research experiences during medical school and residency, exploring aspects of everything from laparoscopic surgery to ovarian and cervical cancer. In 2017, this motivated physician received the Ryan Resident Scholarship to pursue additional training in family planning.

Dr. Loeffel has certification in the da Vinci System for robotic gynecologic surgery and certification in Nexplanon insertion and removal.

Aside from the wait time which are mostly unavoidable, I enjoy the care I receive from Dr. Loeffel and the back staff. The staff is super pleasant and Dr. Loeffel always makes sure I don't have any concerns, if I do she listens and we have a conversation. The front staff isn't as friendly, they always seem upset or annoyed.

My doctor was kind and listened to me, without making me feel embarrassed. She gave me confidence that we would try one treatment and if it didn’t work, we could pursue other treatments.
