She received her Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Texas. She then completed her Master of Science in medical sciences at the University of North Texas Health Science Center.

This San Antonio OBGYN received her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She stayed in the city for her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. During her residency, Ilanna Loeffel MD completed the Felix Rutledge Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology, a one-month rotation at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Dr. Loeffel pursued research experiences during medical school and residency, exploring aspects of everything from laparoscopic surgery to ovarian and cervical cancer. She was the chief resident from 2018 to 2019. She also received the Outstanding Resident Teacher Award in 2016 and 2017. In 2017, this motivated physician received the Ryan Resident Scholarship to pursue additional training in family planning.

Dr. Loeffel has certification in the da Vinci System for robotic gynecologic surgery and certification in Nexplanon insertion and removal.

Dr. Loeffel has been the absolute best to have as an OB as she is so easy to talk to without ever feeling judge, rushed or like just another number. I only rate 4 stars due to the wait times at appointments. Once checked in you can easily be waiting 45+ minutes to be called back to be seen after your appointment time. Outside of the long waits I love having Dr. Loeffel as my OB!

Sonogram team no longer prints photos for you. Also my total time in the office was 2.5hrs. The waiting room was stuffy and hot with no air circulating. The room i was in was next to a break room so it smelled like freshly brewed coffee.

Skin Infections

I had a very painful vaginal rash that had been treated by my PA for several weeks unsuccessfully. Dr. Loefful identified the rash and prescribed medication which gave me relief quickly. Dr. Loefful has a great manner setting you at ease. Lucky to have her as my Doc. Dr. Loeffel put me at ease on my first visit. She explained what she was going to do and fully answered all my questions. I never felt rushed. Moreover, she has a great sense of humor.
