Dr. Shepherd is a native Texan who grew up in Lindale. She started her career as a teacher. She has a passion for helping others and taught in places from San Antonio to India. Dr. Shepherd decided to combine her love of teaching, interest in women’s health and passion for service into a career in medicine. She completed medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center and finished her residency at the Ivy League’s Brown University. Dr. Shepherd takes pride in educating patients about their condition, providing personalized care and forming meaningful relationships with her patients. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, running and spending time with her husband, also a teacher, and two children. She is excited to return home to Texas and to join the River Place OB/GYN team!

Menopause Management / Education

I can’t find a lot of in-depth information on menopause, because i don’t think it’s been studied at great length…so feeling like I’m not myself is quite scary. So grateful for great doctors like Dr shepherd who are doing the hard work of trying to help me feel better. Also, I’ve been traveling a lot this year (currently in South Padre Island) and so grateful for Telehealth appointments, it’s been such an amazing option. Also, i love Dr Shepards time management. From the reminders by her staff, to links about my appointment: they are on top of it. I find it so refreshing finding any doctors that are on time with their appointments (i have a Opthamologist who usually on average runs at least an hour late.. every single appointment). That would never happen with Dr Shepard. She’s always on time and honestly, it’s so refreshing. I understand things happen that can make the schedule slide, that’s natural.. but an appointment that starts on time, chefs kiss. And that’s the standard there… i definitely am grateful.
