Why do you need family planning healthcare services?

We know that planning is so important for your continued health and well-being. About half of the pregnancies in the US are unintended. Family planning means that you will be better prepared and ready for your baby when the time comes for you to welcome a new member into your family.

After you’ve had a baby, you’ll also need information about contraception options that will keep you safe and healthy. Ideally, your pregnancies should be spaced at least 18 months apart. Your body needs time to heal. You may actually need to space pregnancies further apart, depending on your family and medical situation.

Annual Well Woman Exam

I got there 15 min early. The check in process was efficient and prompt. However, I waited 40min in the room (past my appointment time ) to be seen by physician. At some point, I came out of my room to ask someone how much longer to see the doctor, the nurse told me (while she tended to her computer with her back to me: what is it ? ( I inquire about the time frame to see the doctor). Her answer: it won’t be that long you’re next ! ( still with her back to me ). I was only inquiring as I know doctors can be called to deliveries unexpectedly, I had worked the night before and I was exhausted. If needed, I could just reschedule. Once the doctor came to my room , the process was done within a few minutes. The doctor was cordial and asked about any concerns. I had none. Staff could learn to engage patients with respect and understanding. Patients time should be respected as much as doctors, I was in time for my appointment, the delayed, while understandable, could’ve been explained with a more positive attitude.
