About Michelle Arevalo, MD

Dr. Michelle Arevalo loves the bread and butter of obstetrics and gynecology: developing lasting relationships with patients, seeing them through the challenges of pregnancy and menopause, and protecting them from preventable diseases. She is particularly passionate about managing abnormal uterine bleeding.

Dr. Arevalo provides maximum comfort for her patients during examinations and procedures, with the goal of never allowing women to forego treatment for fear of pain. Multimodal relief is offered to all women undergoing IUD insertion, colposcopy and other gynecologic procedures traditionally thought to be painful, customized to the patient and her needs. Dr. Arevalo knows each patient’s journey is unique and she desires to make sure all of her patients feel valued, heard and informed when they come in to see her.

Dr. Arevalo was born in Bryan, Texas. She graduated from the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York. After graduating, she spent five years as an officer in the Army Medical Service Corps where she was deployed to Iraq and received a Bronze Star Medal and Combat Medical Badge from that tour. During her deployment she realized her calling to be a physician and applied to medical school. She graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas where she was in the AOA honor society and won the Southwestern Gynecologic Assembly medical student award in 2018. Dr. Arevalo completed her residency at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina.

In her free time, Dr. Arevalo enjoys spending time with her husband, Juan, and her beautiful baby girl, Grace. Her other interests include writing and traveling abroad.
