About Rachel Shepherd, MD
Dr. Shepherd is a native Texan who grew up in Lindale. She started her career as a teacher. She has a passion for helping others and taught in places from San Antonio to India. Dr. Shepherd decided to combine her love of teaching, interest in women’s health and passion for service into a career in medicine. She completed medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center and finished her residency at the Ivy League’s Brown University. Dr. Shepherd takes pride in educating patients about their condition, providing personalized care and forming meaningful relationships with her patients. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, running and spending time with her husband, also a teacher, and two children. She is excited to return home to Texas and to join the River Place OB/GYN team!
